    10 April 2008

HOUSEHOLDERS wait with with bated breath to see if their rubbish/recycling will be collected this week.
The first week of the new collection system in Warwick district was little short of a disaster. Every other phone call/email to the Observer office in the past weeks seems to have been about the new collections - or more to the point the lack of them.
Warwick District Council have been quick to hold their hands p and admit mistakes have been made.
But while a lot of people are understandably frustrated and angry, 99.9 per cent of all our correspondents are fully behind the push to increase recycling. Let's hope the council can sort the system out asap, and we can all then focus on the main aim - to recycle more of our rubbish.
