THE BODY of missing Warwick man Bernard Tandi has been found in a remote stretch of river between the town and Barford.

He was recovered just after 12.30pm on Monday (February 18) by a specialist water search team after a member of the public reported seeing a body in the river.

Later the body was formally identified as that of Mr Tandi, a 38-year-old who was first reported missing from his home in Portobello Way, Warwick, on January 3.

Police are investigating the circumstances around the death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.

A post mortem is scheduled to take place on Thursday (February 21) to establish a cause of death.
