Hi: 17° Lo:12° 7 day

WARWICK School completed a notable double as their under 15 rugby team reached the quarter-final of the Daily Mail Cup thanks to an impressive 20-14 victory over the previously unbeaten Bedford School at Maidenhead RFC on Friday.
It was sweet revenge for a 31-7 defeat against Bedford earlier in the season and followed in the footsteps of their under 18 side who reached the last eight of the prestigious competition the previous week.
Warwick started positively and good kicking helped pin Bedford inside their own half which enabled Jack Ashford to go over for two tries following good team play from attacking scrums and lineouts.
Will Stride increased the lead by slotting over a huge penalty from past the halfway line and Jordan Ainslie punished a handling mistake by the hosts to kick through and put Warwick 20-0 ahead at half time.
Bedford hit back strongly in the second half and were rewarded with two converted tries which set up a nail-biting final ten minutes.
The home side were pressing in the closing stages when a great turnover from Joe Hill allowed the very mobile James Taylor-Watts to run the ball out to safety and secured victory.
Warwick under 15s now entertain Wellington College in the last eight on Tuesday, while the under 18s visit Wilmslow High School on Wednesday.
