THREE burglars have been jailed for a total of 13 years and three months for burglary.
Daniel Rollins, 21, of Lawson Avenue, Tiddington, Matthew Evans, 27, of Cymbeline Way, Warwick, and Samuel Gold, 25, of Masters Road, Leamington were today (Friday) sentenced at Warwick Crown Court.
Rollins was sentenced to three years for conspiracy to commit burglary and a further 35 offences of theft and garage burglaries were taken into consideration by the judge.
He was also sentenced to a further 21 months for a burglary dwelling in Hamilton Road, Tiddington, in May 2012 to run concurrently.
Evans was sentenced to two-and-a-half years for conspiracy to commit burglary.
Gold was sentenced to two-and-a-half years for conspiracy to commit burglary and three-and-a-half years to run concurrently for two burglaries. The judge also took six further offences of commercial burglary into consideration.
All three had pleaded guilty to conspiring to burgle, which incorporated 12 offences of commercial burglary in the Leamington, Warwick and Kenilworth areas between July 17 and 28 at an earlier hearing.
DS Tony Power who led the investigation said: "The result demonstrates Warwickshire police will go to great lengths to both reduce and detect as much crime as possible. All three now have a long time to reflect on their criminality."
Both Rollins and Evans were first arrested on suspicion of a burglary at the Porridge Pot on Stratford Road, Longbridge, after officers were alerted by the alarm sounding at 3.05am on Friday July 27.
Officers arrived and followed a white car they believed was acting suspiciously nearby.
The vehicle stopped and two people ran off. Rollins was arrested after a short foot chase, while Evans was arrested sometime later in the rear garden of a property on Stratford Road.
Police recovered a Cops and Robbers gaming machine which had been stolen from the pub and abandoned near roadworks in Stratford Road.
The vehicle, a Ford Fiesta, was also recovered by officers who discovered it had been stolen sometime between 10pm on Thursday July 26 and 3am on Friday July 27 from Priory Road in Kenilworth.
Rollins and Evans were remanded in custody after appearing before Leamington magistrates on August 1.
Gold was arrested a few days later, on July 30, on suspicion of a separate commercial burglary at NFU Sports and Social Club on July 19.
