NANDO'S is set to open a restaurant in Leamington next summer, we can exclusively reveal.

After a job vacancy advertising an assistant manager's role at a new site in Leamington appeared online, we contacted the chain – famous for its peri-peri chicken – who confirmed they will be opening premises in the town midway through next year.

The prospective site is currently listed on the Nando's website as being in the Campion Hills area of the town but it is expected the chain will open in a North Leamington location.

Founded in 1987, Nando's operates in thirty countries on five continents and specialises in chicken dishes with either lemon and herb, medium, hot, extra hot or extra extra hot peri-peri marinades.

In 1992 the chain expanded into the UK opening its first restaurant in Ealing, London and there are currently more than 250 other Nando's nationwide.

A Nando’s spokesperson confirmed to the Observer: “It’s true, we’re actively pursuing a site in Leamington Spa, and we hope to open a restaurant there next summer!”
