Man dies after being hit by taxi in Leamington

A TEENAGER has died after being hit by a taxi on the Kenilworth Road in Leamington.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Old Milverton around 3.45 this morning. (Friday)

The incident occurred when a taxi was driving along Kenilworth Road between the Northumberland Road Junction and Old Milverton Lane island and crashed into an 18-year-old man near Woodlands Grange.

The man was confirmed dead at the scene by ambulance paramedics and will not be named until officers have informed his next of kin.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information should call 01926 415415.

And a car crash closed off the Myton Road for part of the afternoon on Thursday. (December 6)

A red Lexus Estate and a white Hyundai 110 crashed into one another at the junction of Myton Road and Banbury Road just after 1.30pm.

No-one was seriously injured but the road was closed while a diesel spill was cleared up.
