COMPUTER games developers in Leamington are putting on a rocking charity gig for the seventh year running.

Staff from Blitz Games Studios will take to the stage as part of the Blitzkrieg Bop event on Friday, December 7 at the Robbins’ Well in Victoria Terrace.

Acts include post rock band 'Fallen Fires', violin charged drum and bass combo 'I'll be the navigator', indie rock group 'Black Mirrors' plus a live set from award-winning DJ 'Beau Disco'.

The event has raised more than £2,500 for different charities in the last six years and this time proceeds do to Fight for Sight, a charity which specialises in funding pioneering research to prevent sight loss and treat eye disease.

Blitz lead animator Alex Webster, gig organiser and frontman of various bands over the last ten years, said: “Blitz games studios have a lot of musical talent here and I decided it would be cool to pool the talent and organise a musical event in 2006. It was such a success that I decided I would hold it ever year, picking a different charity each time I feel are doing good but may not have the clout of the main charities we all know about.”

Tickets are £4 and available from the pub. Doors open at 7.45pm.
