By Kevin Unitt Monday 26 November 2012 Updated: 26/11 13:24

NOROVIRUS has now closed all wards at Warwick hospital.

The season viral infection struck late last week at the hospital and all visiting has been banned until further notice.

Exceptions will only made on compassionate grounds where a patient is seriously ill.

The following areas are not affected by the visiting restrictions - Maternity Department, Special Care Baby Unit, MacGregor (children’s ward) and Intensive Therapy Unit.

Norovirus causes vomiting and diarrhoea and is often very infectious, spreading rapidly as a result of contact between individuals.

The Trust’s website www.swft.nhs.uk will be updated on a daily basis to reflect the latest changes.
