Kenilworth radio becoming a reality

SIX months ago Liane Dugal was a woman with a vision. Backed by a team of 12 volunteers, she wanted to bring radio to the Warwickshire community.

And in tough economic times, it seems there is wealth in community and frugal beginnings.

Radio Warwickshire was born and the grass roots station is fast becoming a platform for musicians, artists, thinkers, entrepreneurs, creative people, and individuals who care about their community and want to share ideas.

Kenilworth mother Liane has take on the role of station manager and is passionate about the project, which has been driven by a team willing to work around the clock to promote what is great about Warwickshire.

In the first week of the website being live, they had more than 500 hits from places as far as Turkey, Australia, Ireland and even America.

There is also an on-line magazine style website with programme streaming, blogs and a visual gallery specially created for talent locally.

Liane said: “Our mission is to become a conduit for creative music, arts, and cultural programming that covers a wide spectrum of expression from traditional to experimental, reflecting the diverse cultures we serve."
