HALLOWEEN is always a good time of year for fancy dress companies - as one in Leamington has known all too well for the last decade.

Aladdin's Cave, run from a residential property in Campion Terrace, is celebrating its tenth birthday this month.

The company has as many as 1,000 costumes ranging from the 1920s through to 1990s, everything from superheroes to film stars to furry animals.

Owner Lucy Burton said: “My stepmum has a costume hire business down in Kent, and since I have always enjoyed buying vintage clothes and dressmaking it was inevitable I should end up doing the same thing.

“We have been open for ten years now and have many customers who come to us year after year, but also a lot of people who don’t even know we exist.

“There are now many costumes available from the Internet, but I get so many people saying that they feel like they are wearing cheap nylon pyjamas. There will always be a demand for quality.”
