A CAR-loving student has created his own colourful motoring website to review the latest top models.

Despite still being too young to drive himself, North Leamington School pupil William Savage developed the website from a simple classroom idea, with the help of his family, the school and several local companies.

And at the official launch of www.topcarnews.co.uk – at the school on Wednesday (October 17) – car companies such as Rybrook's McLaren Dealership provided some top new vehicles to be reviewed.

The website, the name for which was snapped up for just £5.99 over two years, can be easily and quickly filled with William's latest news items, reviews, articles and photographs, while also providing a platform for promoting driving safety information.

William said: “I have learnt that it takes a lot of time to turn my classroom idea into reality but I have met some very helpful people on my journey.

“The website is aimed for anyone aged between three and 83 that has an interest in motoring, becoming a young car designer or engineer, or wants ideas for fun events.”

William's proud father Andrew added: “Living in the Midlands, where there is a strong renewed growth of the motoring industry, William thought he would have a go at creating the website as an adventure.

“What makes it unusual is that he is too young to drive legally on the road, however he feels that young people have very strong views on cars and design details.

“One of William’s first cars to be reviewed was the Mclaren MP4 12C, which went from merely a poster on his bedroom wall to being test driven.

"His next car articles could include the new BMW 3 series or perhaps a Rolls Royce or something very sporty, when time permits between doing homework.”
