VISITING has been banned on all wards at Warwick Hospital following a suspected Norovirus outbreak.

There will be no visiting until further notice in order to prevent further spread of the virus to both patients and visitors.

Exceptions will only be made on compassionate grounds where a patient is seriously ill.

Norovirus is a seasonal viral infection which causes vomiting and diarrhoea. It is very infectious and often occurs in outbreaks in communities such as schools, institutions and families. It can be brought into hospitals and cause outbreaks on wards. The virus spreads rapidly as a result of contact between individuals.

The trust’s website www.swft.nhs.uk will be updated on a daily basis to reflect the latest changes.
