Motorcyclist injured after collision with van

A MOTORCYLIST was seriously injured in a collision with a van in Hatton on Tuesday evening (October 9).

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the Birmingham Road shortly before 6pm.

A spokeswoman said: “On arrival crews found a motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, lying on the road.

“The motorcycle was significantly damaged after reportedly colliding with the side of a van.

“The man suffered fractures to both wrists and had reportedly been knocked unconscious for a short time.

“Crews administered pain relief, splinted the man’s wrists and fully immobilised him with a neck collar and spinal board before he was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Coventry.

“No one else was injured in the crash.”
