THE body of a man has been found hanging in trees near Warwick Racecourse.

Police officers yesterday morning (Tuesday) attended a location on land adjoining the racecourse.

The body, which was found by a member of the public, is thought to have been there for some time.

Specialist recovery personnel from West Midlands Police assisted Warwickshire officers in the recovery of the body and procedures are currently under way to identify the person, which may take some time.

A post mortem examination is due to be held, but at this time police are not treating the death as suspicious. The coroner has been informed.

Although the body has not been identified police have informed relatives of Brian Reading, a Warwick man missing since July 21, of the discovery and they are being kept informed.
