A MAN was stabbed in the head in Vialli's restaurant in Leamington in the early hours of Wednesday (September 19).

A group of five people had been arguing with staff, at about 2.30am, when they turned their attention to a man in this 30s and his friend. During an altercation the man was stabbed in the head with an unknown instrument.

He was treated by ambulance staff before being taken to Warwick Hospital for treatment to a five-inch gash to the top of his head.

The five people are believed to have left the scene in a taxi and police enquiries are ongoing to try and identify the group and the individual who carried out the assault.
