THEY will certainly being having a laugh at Leamington's Spa Centre this autumn.
The venue will be hosting Leamington’s first ever Comedy Festival, featuring big names including Lee Hurst (They Think It’s All Over), Jarred Christmas (Mock The Week), and veteran funnyman Jerry Sadowitz, together with some food humour, courtesy of cooking comic Hardeep Singh Kohli and Geordie cooks The Hairy Bikers.
There will even be a stand-up show especially for youngsters, with Comedy Club For Kids
The centre's autumn programme also features drama, music, and family shows.
On stage the centre will present its first ever community-theatre venture with a production of Lark Rise To Candleford, produced in partnership with Tetro Theatre Group.
Other drama will include classics such as including The Importance of Being Earnest and The Canterbury Tales, alongside one man shows including Chris Larner’s affecting one-man An Instinct for Kindness, and Macbeth: Sliced to the Core, which tells the tale of Shakespeare's dark with just a single actor.
Music-wise the centre welcomes singer-songwriters Elkie Brooks and Paul Carrack, and tribute is paid to the golden era of rock and roll with the return of That’ll Be The Day for a special Christmas show, and the hits of Queen will fill the centre for One Night of Queen.
The Studio will as ever be hosting Independent and International films, as well as operas and ballets beamed live via satellite from Moscow, Paris and London.
For youngsters shows include The Sea Show and How Lion Became King of Tinga Tinga Land.
And for ladies looking for a girls-night-out may enjoy the return performance of The Vagina Monologues and international male strippers The Dreamboys with their Full Frontal tour.
