Woodhouse leads Stoneleigh to victory

STONELEIGH Deer Park Golf Club’s Nicola Woodhouse led her team to victory in the Inter Team League Final at Welcome Golf Club.

The team of seven, made up of Woodhouse, Julie Jennings, Sally Sparrow, Kully Wain, Margaret Whitehead, Teresa Wright and Helen Dellow overcame last year’s winners Maxstoke Park Golf Club to triumph.

Elsewhere, Division One of the Ladies Medal was won by Sally Sparrow (nett 71) with Shirley Proctor (74) and Frances Farren (74) taking the Division Two and Three honours respectively.

Ade Goodall amassed 39 points to win Division One of the Main Club Stableford. Dave Ruttley finished three points behind in second whilst Rich Viner was a further two points adrift in third.

Les Parsons won Division Two with 40 points. Countback was needed to see Graham Pidgeon finish ahead of Dave Crossley in second after they both scored 39 points.

Jon Elland scored 39 points to win Division Three from Robert Ford (35) and Tony Fossey (34 countback).

A. Economides won the Midweek Stableford with 41 points. H. Smith was second on 40 points, one point ahead of W. Smith in third.
