JANE Austen to jazz feature in the autumn line-up at Warwick's Bridge House Theatre.

Austen’s Women, on September 8, sees 13 of the author's female characters brought to life - from Pride and Prejudice’s spirited Elizabeth Bennet to the loquacious Mrs Bates from Emma - by actress Rebecca Vaughan.

Then Warwick School theatre also hosts visits from four contemporary writers - Kate Mosse, Christopher Brookmyre, Claire Tomalin and Roger McGough as part of Warwick Words running from September 27 to October 7.

The first concert of the autumn season will be given by The Armonico Consort on September 27. Baroque Around the Clock combines lesser known facts behind the some of the greatest moments in Baroque opera with music including excerpts from Handel’s Agrippina, Purcell’s The Fairy Queen plus works by Vivaldi and Bach.

Music continue during October and November starting with an concert by the latest hot thing in jazz The Bateman Brothers, who have been wowing audiences across the UK with their tribute to the legendary Louis Armstrong.

Expect a very different concert from The Carrivick Sisters. Identical twins Charlotte and Laura Carrivick have grown up playing and writing music together, and although English, their music has a strong bluegrass influence. They perform original songs on guitar, fiddle, mandolin, dobro and clawhammer banjo.

Also dropping by are The Hepplewhite Piano Trio - joint winners of the fourth Leamington Music Prize - featuring Amy Littlewood on violin, Hetti Price on cello, and Fan Yu on piano, who will perform a varied programme from Haydn to Piazzolla, complemented by the four works to be played by the Taiwanese pianist Chuen-An Chern.

South African singer-songwriter Laurie Levine takes to the stage in December. Her blend of American roots music and the Nu-Fol has brought critical acclaim and seen her record three albums.

As always the autumn season culminates in the Panto, and the 10th anniversary Christmas show presented is Puss in Boots is written, directed and staring Adam Schumacher as Dame Gwendoline Kettlewell-Grind. It runs from December 20 to January 1.
