BENJAMIN Zephaniah brings his unique style of poetry to the RST stage in Stratford next month.

One of England's best-known and best-loved poets, Zephaniah has written many poetry collections for adults and children, as well as plays for the stage, television and radio. He has also produced numerous music recordings, and appeared as an actor in several television and film productions.

The Rastafarian wordsmith's appearance at the RST on Sunday September 16 forms part of the Live At The RSC series of performances, which has already seen singers KT Tunstall, Teddy Thompson and Neil Hannon, and comedians Chris Addison and Russell Kane playing at the RSC’s theatres in Stratford.

Comedian Kane will be return to MC for the evening with Zephaniah, while poet and rapper Kate Tempest provides support. She has been working with the RSC since 2010 helping to bring Shakespeare to a younger audience, and recently wrote and performed a new poem to launch the World’s Shakespeare Festival major digital project, My Shakespeare.

And stand-up comedian Greg Davies, best-known as the psychotic Head of Sixth Form Mr Gilbert in The Inbetweeners, takes to the RST stage on Sunday December 2.

Kane again MCs, with support coming from Edinburgh Fringe regular Stephen Grant.
