POLICE searching for missing Warwick man Brian Reading have renewed their appeal for information or sightings of the 43-year old.

Mr Reading, who is described by friends as someone who doee not usually travel outside of Warwick, was last seen on Saturday July 21, which was also his birthday.

He had been to visit a friend in St John’s in Warwick and left at about 4pm to walk back to his home in Cape Road.

Mr Reading was seen sometime between 5pm and 7pm on Cemetery Lane, Warwick, but there have been no confirmed sightings of him since.

Police are extremely concerned for his welfare because he has failed to make contact with any of his friends since that date, and has not text his relatives, both of which are out of character.

Mr Reading suffers from diabetes, which requires regular medication, but a search of his home by police revealed he had not taken any medication with him. He had also left his mobile phone at home, again something which was very out of character as he always liked to have his phone with him.

Extensive searches around Warwick have been carried out by police officers with dogs searching the towpath along the Grand Union Canal, Priory Park, St Nicholas Park and the cemetery on the Birmingham Road. A search has also been carried out on open land behind the Saxon Mill on Coventry Road.

Mr Reading is described as being 5”8 tall, of slim build with a shaved head. His normal clothing consists of blue jeans and a black jacket.

Det Insp Sue Taylor, who is co-ordinating the search for Mr Reading said, “We are extremely concerned for the welfare of Brian Reading.

“We know that he rarely travels outside of Warwick, and so we are concentrating our search within the town.

“The fact that he does not appear to have any medication with him is of particular concern.

“Mr Reading is in the habit of texting friends and family everyday, but he has not done so since July 21 and again this is causing us concern because it is so out of character.”

Anyone who has seen Brian Reading recently or who has any information about his whereabouts is asked to contact DI Sue Taylor in the local Investigation team at Leamington on 01926 684070.
