POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a violent attack near JD Wetherspoon in Market Street, Warwick on Wednesday evening (August 8).

A 44-year-old man was taken to the University Hospital Coventry where he underwent surgery after sustaining a severe cut to his face when he was struck with broken glass.

Police have this morning (Thursday) arrested a 41-year old male on suspicion of causing injury to the man.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity of JD Wetherspoon, also known as Lloyds No1 Café bar, on Wednesday evening between 6.15pm and 6.45pm.
