A MOTOCYCLIST was seriously injured in a crash in Kenilworth on Friday morning (July 27).

The 27-year-old was hurt on Meer End Road just after 10.30am and an ambulance, paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find a motorcycle and a car that had been in a serious collision.

“The motorcyclist suffered serious back, arms, wrist and pelvic injuries. He was also unconscious when ambulance crews arrived.

“He received emergency treatment at the scene, including pain relief and being immobilised with a spinal board and neck collar before being airlifted to University Hospital Coventry.

“Fortunately, the man was wearing full leather motorcycle safety clothing and an appropriate safety helmet which undoubtedly helped minimise his injuries.

“The woman driving the car was checked over at the scene for the effects of shock but did not require hospital treatment.”
