A CAMPAIGN to provide Team GB athletes with motivational messages has been backed by Leamington Paralympic rugby star Mandip Sehmi.
The Cadbury's Postcard initiative allows people write on blank postcards found in Dairy Milk bar wrappers – or visit www.cadburypostcards2012.co.uk - to send a direct message of support to the athletes, who can read them via a specially designed smartphone app which also allows them to respond.
Thousands of motivational messages are being collected.
Mandip Sehmi, a wheelchair rugby player who lives in Leamington, said: “The Games are excitingly close and my training has really intensified.
“It’s incredibly motivating to read so many positive messages of support from Cadbury’s London 2012 Postcards campaign and being able to reply directly to members of the British public really helps you realise how much support there is for the team.
“It’s reminded me what all the hard work and training has been for and made me more determined than ever to succeed.”
