FUNDRAISING has brought generations of people together in Lillington.

The Lillington Evening Townswomen's Guild spent a year generating cash for Lillington Youth Centre – through tea and cakes sales and produce hand-knitted dolls and teddies.

The ladies chose the youth centre as its charity of the year and almost £500 was raised, which has gone toward new pairs of trainers to enable teenagers to compete in the Two Castles Run and also spent on taking ten young people to an outdoor activity weekend.

Youth and Community worker Gary Timlin said: “Both activities raised the young peoples aspirations and confidence.

“As a thank-you the young people welcomed the ladies to the centre and spoilt them with tea, coffee and cakes they had made.”
