A LONG-ESTABLISHED heating firm in Leamington has gone into liquidation.

Sureway Heating Services, based on Morrell Street and trading for more than 40 years, went into liquidation on Wednesday (July 4) with Timothy James Heaselgrave - of Warwick-based The Redfern Partnership LLP - appointed liquidator.

Steven Siddle, an employee of the firm for almost a decade, expressed his shock, telling the paper: “Employees were informed on June 22 and had been working as normal with no indication or communication up until this date. I was unaware myself until June 28 as I had been on holiday.

“Mr son is also an employee with Sureway and took it upon himself to set up leaflets and adverts under to generate work and income under the Sureway name but was informed by an unknown telephone caller that someone had bought out the name.

“We're all in the dark – I'm owed wages let alone thousands of pounds in redundancy money.

“It's a worrying time with both me and my son affected but I'm hoping to now set up a business on my own.”

The company, which employed about ten people, carried no mention of the liquidation on its website this week, continuing to carry the message: 'Since 1964, we have been helping our customers all across Coventry and Warwickshire stay warm and comfortable in their homes. Should anything go wrong with your central heating gas system our plumbers and gas engineers have the knowledge and skills to deal with it..365 days a year!'

Neither the company or its liquidators had returned our calls at time of going to press.
