WARWICK Town Carnival was again a success – despite organisers being unable to hold its procession due to police shortages as they covered the Olympic Torch visit.

Renamed Warwick Lions Fun Day to mark the change, events were confined to St Nicholas Park but the day still featured a host of fun, including performances by Warwick Girls Marching Band, a falconry display, dance sessions, traditional cars and various children's activities and games.

Special Olympic medals provided by organisers Warwick Lions Club were presented to young winners of some of the events.
