The Olympic Torch Relay arrived in Leamington shortly before 5pm. It then made its way from the railway station and up The Parade.

Spencer's Yard to Leamington Town Hall - Peter Frazier, 62, from Heathcote Park, contracted a kidney disease aged just 20 but went on to become the first person to ever run a marathon after a kidney transplant, following it by competing six times at the World Transplant Games, winning gold in the 5,000 metres in Athens 1982 and gold in the 800 metres as a veteran in Sydney in 1997. He said: “It was a great honour for me to carry the torch."

Town Hall to Warwick Street - Carina Yew Booth, 13, from Warwick, helps care for her mother who suffers from polio, has become deputy head girl of her school as well as finding to time to learn the saxophone, compete in speech and drama competitions and join the Young Firefighters' Association.

Warwick Street to Beauchamp Avenue - Doudou Lo, 26, is a Senegalese wrestler described as a hometown hero and role model, having become known in his homeland as Xaregne Lo, meaning 'being the best at what you do.'

Beauchamp Avenue to Lillington Avenue - Jasmine Morris, 17, is a coach and volunteer at Rugby Town Football Club, winning endless awards for her efforts.

Lillington Avenue to Woodcote Road - David Taylor, 44, from Warwick, is a sportsman and fund-raiser, carrying our a 100-mile cycle ride on behalf of Help for Heroes.

Woodcote Road to Northumberland Road - Antony Bobath is a stalwart coach from Leamington Rugby Club. He is an inspirational coach and mentor and makes Rugby huge fun week in, week out, inspires the players, supports them and along the way teaches them invaluable lessons for life.
