MORMONS in Warwick held a 'Spring clean for the Queen' in the town.
About 150 members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gathered to collect dozens of bags of rubbish at St Nicholas Park and across other areas of the town.
Susan Bleach, one of the volunteers, said: “Warwick is a beautifully-kept town but we managed to collect 60 bags of rubbish, 43 bags of recycling, one plastic barrier, a supermarket trolley and a road sign – it was great fun despite the rain.”
Coun Mike Kinson, chairman of Warwick District Council, paid a visit to see the volunteers in action and said: “I can’t believe so many people turned out in the rain to do a job like this and am extremely grateful.”
Sunday services are held from 10am at the chapel, located at 106 Saltisford, Birmingham Road, and visitors are always welcome.
For further information contact Sue Bleach on 07810 221513.
