Hi: 14° Lo:2° 7 day

THE SUN may have stayed away but not the crowds as thousands flocked to the Kenilworth Show on Saturday (June 2).
The annual event is now the largest one day agricultural show held in Coventry and Warwickshire and attracted visitors from all over the country to the 50 acre site opposite Stoneleigh Park.
Among the entertainment at the 69th Kenilworth Show included spectacular stunts from motorcycle display team - the Bolddog Lings – a grand parade of livestock, children’s amusements and the chance to see farming tools and machinery from the 1950s to the present day.
Penny Poulter, secretary of the Kenilworth and District Agricultural Society (KADAS) and Kenilworth Show, said the weather didn’t dampen spirits.
“The sun didn’t shine on us, but we were really pleased with the turnout and once again there was a tremendous atmosphere throughout the day.
“The Kenilworth Show has become one of the premier agricultural events held in the Midlands and is great way of bringing a bit of the country to people in the town and we hope everyone who came along had a great time.
“A lot of work goes into organising the show and everyone involved in KADAS and the organising committee would like to thank the many thousands of visitors and exhibitors who joined us. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year.”
Ian Pegler, chief executive of Stoneleigh Park, added: “It has been an honour to have hosted the Kenilworth Show at Stoneleigh Park once again.
“It’s a pleasure to see so many families coming together for what is without doubt one of the most popular country show in the region and we’re proud that the dedicated show organisers have again drawn upon Stoneleigh Park’s rich agricultural heritage in planning this fantastic family event.”
