CRACKLEY Hall School athletics star Georgina Mitchell enjoyed a busy weekend of competition bagging four prized medals for achievements on the track and in the pool.
The 11-year-old from Warwick sparkled in the two counties athletics championships at Leicester on Saturday.
Winning the county 800 metres title in a personal best time of 2.39.60 she then went on to take silver in the long jump.
Another personal best of 3-90m gave her confidence to tackle her inaugural 200 metres sprint in which she won bronze.
That same evening the sports mad youngster competed for Leamington ASC in their Junior League round two Gala at Rugby’s Ken Marriott Leisure Centre.
As part of the 11-year-old relay team, Mitchell’s power proved invaluable as the girls dominated their races against stiff competition.
Mitchell then competed in the British Biathlon Championships at Sutton Coldfield on Sunday.
A further pb in the 50 metres freestyle in 33.75 and a solid 1000 metres run helped secure the team a bronze medal overall.
Crackley Hall headteacher Robert Duigan said:“Georgina’s achievements reflect her dedication to training outside of school.
“It is wonderful to hear of her success and without doubt this inspires our younger athletes to follow in her speedy footsteps.”
