PROMINENT Leamington Sikh leader Jagtar Singh Gill met with Prime Minister David Cameron at 10 Downing Street.
Mr Gill, who was general secretary of Gurdwara Sahib temple between 2009 and 2011 and is a founding member of Sikh Council UK, said he was “honoured” to be invited to meet the PM recently, and during the trip he also met with leader of the opposition Ed Miliband at the House of Parliament.
He added: “I was delighted to accept the invitations. There are probably many more deserving people that might have been invited and I am not sure how I was selected, but I would like to think this was to recognise the work of local organisations like Gurdwara Sahib, Sikh Heritage Association Warwick and Leamington and Sikh Council UK.”
The event at number 10 was organised by the Prime Minister's staff to celebrate prominent people from local communities and the parliament meeting was organised by the All Party Parliamentary Sikh Group.
