TEAMS are being urged to sign up for a Madcap charity adventure across Europe – driving a car worth less than a grand.
Over a four-day Bank Holiday weekend, August 24 to 27, the teams of two or three people will rally their bangers up to 2,000 miles to as yet undisclosed locations while raise money for Dreams Come True, a charity supporting terminally ill children across the UK and Northern Ireland.
Wearing fancy dress, and having given their vehicles crazy makeovers, teams will begin the 'Roadhog' road trip at Brands Hatch, the home of British motor sport, before setting off across numerous borders as they complete treasure-hunt style tasks.
Nightly campsites will be set up on the way by race organisers Roadhog, a company based in Kenilworth.
Its managing director, Camillus Hammill, said: “Our team has prepared exclusive guides covering buying and preparing cars, fund-raising, equipment and theme ideas so entrants have nothing to worry about. We are grateful to other Kenilworth businesses, such as the Almanack pub and Acorns printing, for their support.
“This drive is to support Dreams Come True and the fantastic work they do with terminally ill children and will make a real difference.”
The event was also backed at a photoshoot in Kenilworth by a Wonderbra and Page 3 model Katie Green, who has campaigned politically against size-zero models.
