BUDDING artists are being urged to help fly the flag on Bank Holiday Monday (May 7).
The challenge is on to decorate 100 flags which will fly at a Jubilee Tea Party in Leamington's Pump Rooms on Sunday June 3. The 1950’s theme tea party is free to everyone, and will feature all the pomp and ceremony from London on a giant screen together with live music.
The flags will also later line the Olympic torch route through the town on July 1.
A free flag decorating workshop takes place at the Grand Union Restaurant on Clemens Street between noon and 4pm. All are welcome to attend, and all materials to decorate flags will be provided.
Local artist Amelia Renfrew - who has designed a special Jubilee tea party poster - will be there to help and inspire.
Leamington’s BID Executive Director Stephanie Kerr said: “Last year’s workshops for the Christmas Lantern Parade were so successful that we have decided to tap into Leamington’s wonderful community spirit again to mark this very special celebration."
