The only son of Eric and Helen Brotherton, of: Lapworth, Warwickshire.
Brother of: Helen Jane Brotherton (Feb 1914-Aug 2009 Spinster).
Educated in Shrewsbury and at Balliol College, Oxford

Employed with Lloyds Bank Leamington (during his employment with the Bank Eric was resident within the Parish)

MEF (Middle East Force); wounded in Libya Aug 1941.

Major in Italy.
Died of wounds on the 13th September 1944, Aged: 28. Italy, received during the Battle of Gemmano Ridge, September 5th to 15th 1944.
Buried at the Coriano Ridge War Cemetery, Italy
Eric is commemorated at Holy Trinity Church Leamington Spa, Balliol College Oxford.
Royal Armoured Corps Roll of Honour and in the Church of the Transfiguration, Canford Cliffs, Bournemouth.
After the war Eric's parents and Sister moved to Canford Cliff, Bournemouth, and were at the Church of the Transfiguration all four family members are commemorated on individual Brass Plaques.
