RESIDENTS in Whitnash are celebrating the news their local park is set for a long-awaited facelift.
Following months of public consultation and funding applications, community group Friends of Acre Close and Whitnash Town Council have secured just over £62,000 to improve the play area off Acre Close.
Sioban Mulherin of the friends groups said: “After a year of hard work, we are really pleased to have achieved such a positive outcome. Now we can start to make a difference.
“Meeting and talking with local people confirmed to us just how important the park is to our community.”
Mayor of Whitnash Judy Falp, added people deserved a park they could be proud of and they were determined to make that happen at Acre Close.
Funding has come from various sources such as environmental body Wren, Warwick District Council, Whitnash Town Council and Whitnash Community Forum.
The friends group are on Facebook or can be emailed at friends@acreclose.co.uk for more information.
