AGREEMENT has been reached to secure the future of Helen Ley Care Centre near Leamington, the MS Society and Castel Froma announced last night (Thursday).
Contracts have been agreed to transfer Helen Ley from the ownership of the MS Society to Castel Froma. The contracts are expected to be officially exchanged in the coming days, securing its future as a respite centre for people with MS.
The formal transfer is now expected to be completed by mid-April. In the meantime, the centre is now taking bookings, which can be made by calling the centre on 01926 313550.
Simon Gillespie, chief executive of the MS Society, said: “We are delighted we can now have certainty that we will be able to transfer Helen Ley into the ownership of Castel Froma. They are a well-known local care provider which receives a lot of support from the local community, and it’s reassuring that they will be able to continue to provide a service for people with MS at Helen Ley. We look forward to welcoming new guests on Saturday.
“We recognise that there have been a number of twists and turns over the last few months but we’ve achieved what we set out to do, which is good news for everyone affected. We’d like to thank our staff for continuing to provide excellent care and support for guests and residents during what we know has been a very difficult time.”
Steve Nicklin, chairman of the board of trustees of Castel Froma, said: “We are all delighted that we have been able to secure the purchase of the Helen Ley Care Centre. The Care Centre is a good fit with the services that we provide at Castel Froma and this is a good overall solution for those involved in Helen Ley.
“We plan to continue offering excellent levels of care for people with MS and are likely to bring in some new related services in due course to benefit the wider community. We have a strong management team at Castel Froma who are looking forward to working with the Helen Ley staff to ensure that it has a bright future for many years to come.”
