Arrests over lead theft from Leamington church

THREE men have been arrested on suspicion of stealing lead from the roof of St Mark's Church in Leamington.

Police were alerted at 1am on Monday morning (February 20) after a local resident reported hearing noises coming from the rear of the Rugby Road church and seeing torch lights.

Officers arrived and arrested three men after containing the area.

The men, one aged 17 and the other two aged 18, all from Sutton Coldfield, spent the night in police cells and are currently being interviewed by officers today.
