SEEING his mother struck down by cancer has inspired a Kenilworth businessman to run the London Marathon.
Richard Hales, who runs the town-based firm Charles Peters Recruitment, will join thousands of runners on the starting line on April 22 as he raises casg in aid of Breast Cancer Campaign.
The 35-year-old said: “My mum was recently diagnosed with breast cancer therefore this is a charity very close to my heart.
“I have always wanted to run the marathon but have never got round to entering. My mum’s diagnosis gave me the kick up the backside I needed.”
Richard has started his training for the 26.2 mile challenge and has big plans for his fund-raising with a Race Night at Kenilworth Wardens on March 24 and an over 35s football tournament plus quiz nights.
