A MAN has been killed after his classic car hit a tree near Leamington.
The motorist, who has not yet been named, crashed at 2.45pm on Tuesday afternoon (February 14) on Old Milverton Lane in Blackdown.
Two ambulances, a paramedic area support officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance with a doctor on board were sent to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews found a classic car which had been in collision with a tree. A second car at the scene also had minor damage.
“The man driving the classic car suffered very serious chest injuries. Firefighters worked with ambulance staff to rapidly free the man so that advanced life support could be undertaken.
“Crews continued resuscitation while the doctor carried out a range of advanced medical techniques. Unfortunately, despite the extensive efforts, nothing could be done to save the man and he was pronounced dead on scene.
“The driver of the second car, a woman, was uninjured.”
