TWO men were injured, one seriously, after being hit by a car in Kenilworth on Sunday morning (February 12).

It happened in Rouncil Lane around 8.30am, and a man in his mid 40s suffered a broken leg.

An ambulance spokesman said: “The man was given pain relief to help stabilise his condition before crews and the doctor carefully placed his leg in a splint and fully immobilised him with the use of a neck collar and spinal board.

“The man was then airlifted to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further emergency treatment.

“A second man, also believed to be in his 40s, suffered a less serious leg injury. He too was assessed and treated on scene before being taken by land ambulance to the same hospital.

The driver of the car, a woman believed to be in her 20s, was uninjured in the crash.

And a father and his son were taken to hospital after a car crash a few hours later in Long Itchington.

It happened at Snowfield Hill on Leamington Road shortly after 11am, and the father and son had managed to get out of the car by the time ambulance crews arrived, including an air ambulance.

An ambulance spokesman said: “The driver, a man in his 40s, suffered a head wound. Due to the damage caused in the crash crews immobilised the man as a precaution and treated his head wound before he was airlifted to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.

“His son, a teenager, suffered minor injuries and was taken by land ambulance to the same hospital.”
