AN ARTIST from Leamington scored a winner for charity with his portrait of football legend Sir Bobby Charlton.
Chris Oxenbury offered his skills to The Children's Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT), which provides free holidays and activities for terminally ill, chronically sick, disabled and disadvantaged children from the north west of England.
Chris, known to many simply as Okse, got involved through his friend the comedian Jason Manford who is a patron of the charity, while 1966 England World Cup winner and former Manchester United great Sir Bobby is the charity's life president.
Okse's painting was auctioned off at a fund-raising ball in Cheshire and raised £1,800.
Sir Bobby said he 'loved' the finished painting and happily signed it. It is planned to present Sir Bobby with a smaller canvas photo print of the portrait.
CAFT was founded in 1985 by a small group of volunteers and is based around a beautiful 17th century farmhouse in the heart of Cheshire countryside.
