Liquidation for more online recruitment companies

YET more Leamington-based online recruitment companies have been placed into liquidation.

The town has become something of a capital for sham Internet recruitment businesses in recent years with a whole host closed down in the High Court.

Now two more - Online Staffing Limited and Recruitment Web Solutions Limited – have been ordered into liquidation in the High Court on the grounds of public interest.

Both described their business as recruitment specialists in advertising the latest job opportunities in nursing, healthcare and education but investigations found there was no legitimate business carried out by either company.

At court Registrar Sally Barber, who made the liquidation order, said: “The information obtained by the investigator suggests that the companies have been used as vehicles for fraud by passing themselves off as reputable recruitment advertising organisations in a bid to procure contracts with the advertiser and subsequently seek payment for their purported services.”

Both companies were registered in Crabtree Grove, Leamington, in April 2011 with the director recorded as a Sharon Downes.

Last November it was revealed previous sham Internet recruitment companies based in the town had conned almost £14,000 from unsuspecting businesses and charities.

Rightsteointernetrecruitment Limited had made unsolicited contact with organisations, typically in the healthcare or education field, which had recently placed an advertisement for a job vacancy with legitimate publications, and proceeded to improperly obtain payment from those organisations who mistakenly believed they were dealing with those genuinely involved in acting on their behalf.
