A MAN died and another was injured in a car crash in at Cubbington on New Year’s Day.
A green Volkswagen Golf left Welsh Road in the village around 6.15am – no other vehicle was involved.
Two men in the car were taken to Warwick Hospital. One sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead at hospital. The other was treated for less serious injuries and was later released from hospital.
Police who are investigating the collision are appealing for anyone who was driving along the road around the time and who may have seen the VW Golf - being driven towards Offchurch – to contact them.
Police are also appealing for anyone who was walking along Welsh Road at around that time, or any motorists who saw any pedestrians walking along Welsh Road, to contact PC Mick Hogan on 01926 415415.
The name of the deceased will not be released until formal identification processes have been completed and relatives informed.
