HITTING the accelerator rather than the brake led to this unfortunate incident outside Kenilworth's Holiday Inn on Tuesday (December 13).
A female motorist was in the car park of the Abbey End hotel at about noon when she slammed into a wall, smashing nearby glass fencing.
She was trapped in the vehicle for a short time but freed by firefighters, thankfully without any injuries.
Police sergeant Dave Kettle, from Kenilworth's Safer Neighbourhood Team, told the paper: "Luckily it looks far worse than it actually was. While there was considerable damage to the car and what it smashed into, the main thing is the lady was not injured."
