MP Jeremy Wright pulled up a chair or two but there was no sitting down to be done.
The Kenilworth and Southam MP was kept on the go when he joined Kenilworth Lions collecting furniture for their store in Farmer Ward Road on Saturday (December 3).
Mr Wright, who is a strong supporter of the Lions, said: “People with unwanted items can have them collected free of charge.
"Then, rather than those items ending up at the tip, they are sold by the Lions at knock-down prices, helping those who cannot afford, or do not want to buy, new items and at the same time raising funds for Lions’ charities."
The Lions’ furniture store has gone from strength to strength since it was started almost 20 years ago and now brings in more than £50,000 a year. It is run entirely by a team of about 25 volunteers and is open on Saturday mornings from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
